Vancouver Island's app for local food delivery & food market.
Order takeout from restaurants, shop directly from the grocers, butchers, bakers, and farms, and get a ride around the island, all in one app.
The Platform
One app that brings the Island together.
We built Local Pass because Vancouver Island deserves its own platform — one that understands the rhythms of coastal communities. From getting a ride around your city to the corner deli, the fish shop, the farm down the road and your favourite restaurant, it's all here — in one place.

Your favourite local spots — order delivery or pickup, or reserve a table. Every visit and order supports the business.

A marketplace for every kind of food business — grocers, butchers, fish shops, bakeries, caterers, roasters, farms and one-person kitchens. Buy direct from whoever made it.

You set the price, the driver accepts. No surge pricing, no surprises — rides that fair for everyone.
Good food shouldn't
go to waste.
Soon-to-Go is our food rescue program. Restaurants and food merchants mark surplus items at a reduced price — helping customers save money, cutting food waste and keeping good food where it belongs: on someone's table.
Reduced price for customers
Surplus items listed live at a lower price — visible in the app the moment a merchant marks them.
Less food waste on the Island
Every item sold through Soon to Go is food rescued from disposal — a small act with real community impact.
A portion goes to local charity
Sales through Soon to Go contribute to local food organisations working to improve food security across Vancouver Island.

Common questions
What is Local Pass?
What areas of Vancouver Island does Local Pass serve?
Local Pass serves communities across Vancouver Island, including Victoria, Saanich, Nanaimo, Duncan, Courtenay, Campbell River and Port Alberni. Available restaurants and producers depend on the city you select.
Can I order food delivery and takeout on Local Pass?
Yes. You can order delivery or pickup from independent Vancouver Island restaurants at localpass.ca/takeout or in the Local Pass app for iOS and Android.
What is the Island Food Market?
The Island Food Market is a marketplace for Vancouver Island food businesses of every kind — grocers, butchers, fishmongers, bakeries, delis, caterers, coffee roasters, breweries, farms and one-person kitchens. They sell straight to residents with no middlemen, so you can fill a weekly shop and find something you have never seen in a supermarket in the same order.
What kinds of businesses sell on the Island Food Market?
Any Vancouver Island business that produces or sells food. That ranges from a single person making preserves or hot sauce out of a licensed kitchen, to established grocery stores, seafood shops, butchers, bakeries and catering companies. There is no other marketplace on the Island built for that whole range in one place.
Does Local Pass work with Vancouver Island farms?
Yes. Farms get two direct channels on Local Pass: a storefront selling to households alongside every other food business, and wholesale pricing that lets Island restaurants order from them in bulk through the same catalogue. Both cut out the distributor, so more of what the food sells for stays with the farm.
How is Local Pass different from national delivery apps?
Local Pass is independently owned and operated on Vancouver Island by founders who live here. Restaurants and producers keep more of what they earn, fees are shown transparently at checkout, and every order keeps money circulating in Island communities.
Is Local Pass rideshare available yet?
Not yet. Community rideshare is launching on Vancouver Island soon. Passengers will set the fare and drivers accept it, so there is no surge pricing and no hidden fees.
Do I need the app, or can I order from the website?
You can order directly from localpass.ca in any browser. The Local Pass app for iOS and Android adds real-time order tracking, rewards and your Universal Pass.
