Before you add another delivery app

Is Local Pass a good alternative to Uber Eats or DoorDash in Victoria?

Yes — it’s the Island-owned alternative. Local Pass takes a lower commission than Uber Eats or DoorDash, puts you in front of neighbours looking to eat local, and has a local team you can reach. There’s no exclusivity, so you can keep the apps you already use.

How long does it take to get my restaurant on Local Pass?

Setup takes under 10 minutes, and most businesses go live the same day.

Can I pause orders when the kitchen gets slammed?

Yes. Switch your restaurant to Closed on your dashboard, and new orders stop until you switch it back to Open.

Can I take pickup orders only, without delivery?

Yes. Pickup can run on its own, which suits a counter-service cafe or a food truck; delivery is a separate setting you can leave off.

Can a cafe, pub or food truck join Local Pass?

Yes. Cafes, pubs and bars, food trucks, and delis and sandwich shops can all sell on Local Pass alongside sit-down restaurants.

My restaurant is in Nanaimo or Courtenay. Can I join?

Yes. Local Pass is live in Greater Victoria, with Nanaimo, Duncan, Courtenay, Campbell River and Port Alberni rolling out across the Island. Apply now and your restaurant will be ready the day ordering opens in your area.

Do my customers need to download an app?
