Farmers’ markets on Vancouver Island

• A make-it, bake-it, grow-it market: no wholesale, manufactured or imported goods, and no reselling
• Organic certification for farms (backyard growers under 1/4 acre may be exempt)
• Applications are reviewed by a committee of volunteer vendors
• Annual membership $31.50
• Stall fees: regular $42 + GST, corner $48 + GST, half stall $21 + GST, per market

The 2026 Policy Manual requires insurance only of service providers who physically manipulate their customers; no insurance requirement for food vendors was found (it may be in the Participant Agreement sent after approval).

BCAFM’s directory starts the season April 2; the market’s own site says May 2, 2026, which is used here. On 2026-09-25 the market said it was "currently full with a healthy waitlist"; the recommended application deadline was Feb. 8, 2026.
